I sing to you of April
by Alex Castillo
She dances, ballet
She dances, hip-jazz
She dances here and there
She dances at her studio, where she can really express herself, better than all other arts.
Better than painting, better than drawing, better than, music.
That’s what she’s trying to be, better so she can WIN those competitions. So she can hold up that trophy high with her friends by her side, the spot light upon them, and with the crowd cheering and crying their names.
Only through that room of mirrors and side bars, sweating, her clothes smelling of sweat, for hours, can she win that trophy and hold it up high.
