Verenice
A story about Verenice
by Alexis Heredia A little girl is happy to see her mother is back home. Her mother had just started to recover from an anxiety attack. Just imagine that fear the little girl felt, the type of fear that can't be described with any words in any language, the fear of not knowing what had happened to her mother. The woman who showed her to love in infinite ways, the woman who would brush her hair in the morning, the woman who made her breakfast and yelled in the morning, “Breakfast is ready!”. What would happen if one day she woke up to no one brushing her hair or to not smelling the comforting scent of pancakes ? The woman who baked her cakes, the cakes that filled their home with a sweet smell. Maybe that little girl was scared to go to sleep knowing her mother wasn't in the room next door able to comfort her if she got scared, but that little girl was strong. She had hope, she knew her mother would come home one day, and when she did she would go up to her and give her the biggest hug she could give her. As soon as she would walk into her house, the little girl would smile, open her arms and give her a hug filled with all the love a daughter can have for her mother. From then on the little girl would help her family keep a stress free environment for her mother to make sure they both wouldn't go through this again. This made the little girl stronger into the amazing person we know today as our friend Verenice |
