What we did: 

We were given a partner to interview for 40 minutes, they were told to explain the most important people and events in their lives . After interviewing and being interviewed we used the information we learned about them and created poems about them. After creating these poems we were given a class period to create a self portrait that matched the poem that our partners made for us.

This project set out to help the students better themselves at writing for a client, which is something that students will be doing for most of their academic careers. However, the process also helped us get closer as a team, by getting students to learn about each other in depth.
